Case Study: Dove House Restoration in Truro

Project Overview

As part of a larger restoration project, this Dove House, which had been uninhabited for over 20 years, was also brought back to life. The structure had suffered significant wear, with extensive damage to the woodwork requiring careful repairs and refinishing. The goal was to restore both its functionality and charm while ensuring long-term durability.

The Transformation

To repair the most damaged sections, marine-grade ply was used, providing a weather-resistant and sturdy replacement. The restoration process included extensive prep work, using Toupret fillers to smooth and strengthen the surface. The finishing system consisted of Dulux Trade Exterior Weathershield, ensuring superior protection against the elements while preserving the Dove House’s heritage character.

The Result

Now fully restored, the Dove House stands as an elegant feature once again, ready to welcome new inhabitants. The refreshed woodwork and protective finish ensure longevity, blending beautifully with its surroundings while maintaining its historical charm.
