Case Study: Exterior Restoration – Sash Windows & Woodwork in Truro
Project Overview
Our final exterior project of 2024 involved the restoration of a front sash bay, two upstairs sash windows, a door, and soffits & fascias. Due to challenging weather conditions, the entire team collaborated to ensure timely completion while preserving the property’s heritage appeal.
The Transformation
Extensive Wood Repairs:
Used @toupretuk fillers and @timbabuild epoxy putty for structural integrity
Priming & Preparation:
Applied @zinsseruk BIN primer for superior adhesion and sealing
Paint System:
Oil-based Sikkens Satura Satin for a durable satin finish
Rubbol Primer for enhanced longevity and protection
Material Sourcing:
Paints supplied by Truro @duluxtrade
The Result
Despite weather challenges, the project was a success, bringing new life to the exterior while maintaining its historic charm. The meticulous restoration of the sash windows, door, and woodwork ensured long-lasting protection and aesthetic enhancement. A great team effort to close out the year!
